Engineered skin commensal nanogels mitigate psoriasiform inflammation through dual regulation of cutaneous flora and host immunity

Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder characterized by immune dysregulation and alterations in cutaneous microbiota. This work develops nanogels derived from Staphylococcus epidermidis lysates via EDC/NHS crosslinking. The optimized nanogels penetrate the epidermal barrier, suppress keratinocyte hyperproliferation and local inflammation, regulate systemic immune activation, and selectively reshape the skin microbiota by inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus while enriching commensal Staphylococcus species.
